Thriving Couples provides a monthly date night dedicated to intentional strengthening of emotional connection in your relationship! Thriving Couples is an on-going monthly workshop geared towards couples who want to obtain and practice the skills needed to deepen their bond, side step future arguments, and improve connection and intimacy. Healthy, long lasting relationships require investing intentional time and attention to the partnership. In each workshop, couples will receive brief education about common topics and issues that we find couples getting stuck in such as trust, intimacy, communication, and so much more!
Each workshop session will include an educational lecture, experiential activities to support play, bonding, and practice of new skills, and time for discussion.
Key Objectives:
Thriving Couples Workshops are led by Shea Saysavanh, LAC and Anna Callison, LAMFT. Both Shea and Anna specialize in couples work and utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples better understand their attachment needs, recognize patterns of disconnection, and build greater emotional safety and security within their relationships.
Shea brings a trauma-informed, attachment-focused perspective to her work with individuals and couples, with a particular interest in how attachment trauma and past experiences can shape present-day relationships, emotional regulation, and relational patterns. Anna brings extensive experience working with couples and families, as well as her work within Thrive Therapy's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), integrating attachment-oriented and systemic approaches to support emotional awareness, connection, and meaningful change.
Together, Shea and Anna integrate EFT and Porges-informed/Polyvagal-informed lenses to help couples understand the nervous system and the ways our protective responses can influence relationship dynamics. The workshops provide an opportunity for couples to slow down, understand their patterns, access underlying emotions and attachment needs, and practice new ways of connecting with one another.

Perhaps you think the idea of joining a group sounds a bit intimidating. The truth is: IT IS! But we think we do some of our best work when we might feel a tad uncomfortable. We offer classes in a variety of different areas:

For those who are trying to learn more about themselves, go deeper, and enhance their toolkit on life.

For those who want to take their relationship from a 4 or a 5 to a 10.

Classes for as young as 2-5 all the way up to high school.

Classes focused around anxiety, depression, trauma, mood, OCD, and more.
Groups fill up quickly and have limited capacity. When we create a group we want to know that the people who are signing up are dedicated to this experience. Additionally, closed groups (meaning a group where new members cannot join halfway through) provide a much more cohesive experience in terms of support and curriculum.
Actually, we have a wide variety of groups that we offer throughout the year. We post groups the month before they begin to open registration. You can see all of our groups in the catalog below. If you have any questions about upcoming offerings, feel free to reach out in our contact form.
Yes! In fact, a poll at Thrive showed that 73% of group participants found group therapy to be as effective or more effective than individual therapy. Plus, we don’t need a poll to tell you that it’s about a third of the cost.
We’re always happy to talk you through this portion. A lot of our groups have a specific diagnosis to them and that can be a good indicator if it is a good fit for you. You can also always speak with your therapist about the group, whether that therapist is with Thrive or not.
Nobody wants to stay committed to something that is not benefiting them. We completely understand this. Talk to your group leader and we will find a solution.
Groups are an amazing way to do some great work at a fraction of the cost of traditional therapy. Perhaps you think the idea of joining a group sounds a bit intimidating. The truth is: IT IS! But we think we do some of our best work when we might feel a tad uncomfortable.

We know that sometimes filling out these forms feels like tossing a glass bottle with a note into the ocean. Don't worry, we love connecting people to good therapy and will be in touch ASAP!
