Group Description

This 3-hour trauma-informed workshop explores the relationship between nervous system regulation, embodiment, vulnerability, and pleasure. Through guided mindfulness practices, psychoeducation, experiential exercises, and group reflection, participants will deepen awareness of how safety, agency, and body connection influence emotional and sexual wellbeing.

Together, we will explore:

  • Practices for orienting toward safety, consent, and personal agency
  • Bottom-up versus top-down approaches to working with barriers to pleasure
  • Impacts of trauma, shame, and cultural or religious messaging on access to pleasure
  • Responsive versus spontaneous arousal
  • How to use breath awareness to invite safety into the body
  • Education about anatomy, erogenous zones, and arousal
  • Building blocks to accessing pleasure (sensory before sexual)

Participants will engage in grounding practices including mindfulness, body scanning, breathwork, sensory exploration, and guided reflection exercises designed to support curiosity, self-compassion, and safe connection to bodily experience.

This workshop is educational, experiential, and inclusive of varying relationships to sexuality, embodiment, and healing. This workshop is not therapy and will not involve processing personal experiences beyond interactive discussion of educational content and exercises. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace and honor personal boundaries throughout the experience.

Co-facilitated by: Lauren Mokarry, LPC (trauma therapist) and Lauren Hill, PFPT (pelvic floor physical therapist and sex counselor).
